CaloRec privacy policy
CaloRec collects nothing. There is no account, no server and no analytics. Everything you say, photograph, eat or weigh stays on your phone and, if you use one, your watch.
What the app stores, and where
- Your food and activity ledger, your plan and your profile (age, height, weight) are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They are included in your own device backup (iCloud Backup or Android Backup) under your control. CaloRec never reads or uploads that backup.
- Speech recognition runs on the device with OpenAI's Whisper model, which installs with the app from the App Store or Google Play. Food understanding runs on the device with Google's Gemma model, which also comes from the App Store or Google Play. Audio, photos and what you say are not sent anywhere.
Health data
With your permission CaloRec reads active energy and workouts from Apple Health (HealthKit) or Health Connect to show what you burned, and writes workouts you record with CaloRec. Health data is used only to compute your daily balance on the device. It is never used for advertising, never shared with anyone, and never stored in iCloud or on any server by CaloRec.
Purchases
The one-time purchase and the free trial are handled by the App Store or Google Play. CaloRec checks your entitlement on the device through the store's own framework. We do not receive your name, email or payment details.
Network connections
The app connects only to the App Store or Google Play (purchases and store-hosted model packs) and to operating-system services. It has no servers of its own.
Sharing
Sharing a week card or a plan creates an image or a link on your device that you choose to send. Your ledger never leaves the phone.
Deleting your data
Settings → Export lets you save a copy. "Delete everything" removes every entry on the device. Deleting the app removes everything too.
Children
CaloRec is not directed at children under 13.
